With my primary focus on landscapes, and a traditional approach of everything in focus, it’s nice to just shoot wide open on the macros. I enjoy being able to isolate patterns and colors and not worry whether I have sufficient depth of field for the subject. Here are two from the backyard. This type seems to do well on canvas and I have been just looking through things and figuring stuff out for the upcoming art show season.

Particularly like the shades on the left, Number 1642. Wonderful.
Just bookmarked your site after a trip here from Jeff’s. You have great work all around. Looking forward to looking through your gallery and archives!
Thanks for stopping in Andy. Glad you like my work. Hope you have a good one.
Wonderful use of light and colors, Paul.
I also very much appreciated the compositions as macro framing can be quite difficult to decide what one wants and how we want it.
Reading your words was very inspiring as I mainly focus on landscapes myself, but always have a fantastic time shooting macro. No matter if I get keepers or delete all the files.
I really enter another world where nothing mundane exists and I`m always surprised afterwards, how much fun I had.
I am sure many macro shooters feel the same way.
Hope you have a wonderful Florida summer, Paul.

Thanks Seung Kye,
Yes macro can be tough. Sometimes it clicks easier for me and I see all kinds of compositions while other times I delete the whole batch. Its great because you can shoot your own backyard when a trip out somewhere isn’t possible. Glad I could inspire you. Have a great one,
Paul
