Bear Cut Fossil Reef

I had never been, so I decided to check out this fossilized reef on Key Biscayne. It is believed to be fossilized mangroves. Unfortunately, it was a higher tide and it wasn’t dropping fast enough to expose the reef before sunset. It is definitely an area to go back to.

It was a bit hard to find compositions because you are not supposed to walk on the reef. It seems to go right up under the beach, so these interesting potholes and tidepools were still accessible.
